I first tried the food from Urban Cookhouse when they catered a lunch at work and I really enjoyed the selection. So when we decided to have Urban Cookhouse for dinner the other night, I ordered what I remembered having before, which was the lime steak dinner. The lime steak dinner comes with rice and a side salad, and I ordered an extra side of the cheesy pasta (which is basically like a version of macaroni and cheese). Everything that I ordered was delicious! I was actually really impressed with the cheesy pasta. I was also impressed with the amount of food that I received for the price (which was about $13 or $14). I actually only ate half of the steak and rice and saved the rest for lunch the following day. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken wrap meal and an extra side of the broccoli cream soup. He said that his meal was pretty good. The ordering experience was pretty easy. I placed my order online and it was ready within 15 minutes. I really like that the restaurant has a drive-thru window for order pick-ups, so I didn't actually have to get out of the car. My food was ready once I pulled up to the pick-up window and the young lady working the window was very pleasant. Although I ordered food to-go, I noticed that the restaurant has a good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. Since this place is less than 10 minutes from my house and the food is really good, I will definitely keep this restaurant in our rotation.

Our first night in Tuscaloosa was delicious thanks to Urban Cookhouse. Our party of four enjoyed our meals and loved the service. If you visit, ask for Emily. She is attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and leads with hospitality and service. We visited on a Wednesday night and were immediately seated upon arrival. We enjoyed two appetizers - Buffalo cauliflower ( so good) and bacon bombs. I ordered the crab claw dinner. The crab claws were ok, truly nothing g special, but the MAC AND CHEESE. It was absolutely perfect. The green beans were seasoned well and were meat-free, which I appreciated. My daughter enjoyed the chicken and waffle and her teammate had a burger. My friend selected the blackened grouper sandwich. Although a bit messy to eat, she really enjoyed. It was a full house and very popular. Not too loud and a nice location. Overall - great experience and I would highly recommend.

We had the chicken special and lime steak. Both were yummy. The chicken and rice were flavorful. My husband thought the chicken was a little dry, but the flavor compensated. He enjoyed the rice and salad/dressing. The lime beef was also yummy, but after enjoying the orange roll, drinking my seltzer and lemon was too full to eat much. I was grateful to sub my rice for more salad. The orange rolls were basically an included dessert. Yay! Of course, they were the first to go. Lol. Liked them enough to buy bags for our hosts this weekend. The staff was lovely and volunteered to bring a bowl of water for our pup as we relaxed in the shade of the back patio. They were friendly and accommodating. The ambiance was warm. The music was 80s and 90s pop (perfect for a summer afternoon). Though we didn't have little ones, loved that they were set up with small cheerio type cereal cups and kiddie step stool in the restroom. Wish that was a thing when our kids were small. We will hopefully have more opportunities to stop in.

Driving back from Mississippi today & my husband asked me to find a great lunch spot in Tuscaloosa on our way home to Atlanta! I pulled up Yelp & Urban Cookhouse was the 1st restaurant that popped up, & after reading the great reviews and looking at the menu, it looked like our kind of place!! We ordered the white BBQ sandwich, El Cubano Sandwich & hot cheddar pasta. The Broccoli salad was so good that I am going to try to re-create it for Thanksgiving!! Our son goes to Alabama, so we bought him a gift card, so he can enjoy healthy and great food! We highly recommend this farm to table restaurant and we will definitely be back! Thanks Yelp for not letting us down again!
